Around New Year talk inevitably gets around to ‘must get fit’ and I am no different.

It was over a couple or more glasses of red wine with friends over Christmas that it was decided to enter the largest U.K cycle sportive The Dragon ride which is based right here in Wales – name is a bit of a giveaway I suppose ! – There are 3 choices of distance and severity 40km, 130km, and 190km – yes, you guessed the 190km route with 3000m of climbing was the one for us because -

A. We are clinically insane and B. This route goes through the Brecon Beacons.

Already all the entries are full that’s over 3000 people by 10th January – amazing the appetite we have for punishment.
No matter, the entries were confirmed, our credit cards a wee bit lighter and the training needed to commence – then it snowed…….and snowed. This was a little (no very) frustrating so too keep up the enthusiasm we decided to start a blog – a tale of 3 old blokes attempting to ride the dragon over and above their limits.
