After this summer’s Tour de France and Olympic triumphs ‘Wiggomania’ has undoubtedly sent many of us reaching for our lycra and investing in shiny new bikes.

Sean Gerrard, one of Taste Inn Wales's owners is in great pain today - please send messages of support over to our road racing hero. Sean spent 11 (yes 11?) hours on his road bike yesterday on the legendary charity Dragon Ride. This enormous road race covers South Wales, the Brecon Beacons and is a huge feat of endurance for seriously fit people, let alone a food loving, top chef like Sean.
The 'ride' translates into 206km on a small, pointy saddle with 3500metres of steep, gut wrenching climbs. He is not feeling tip top today, although his sense of pride should be sky high. Massive congratulations to you Sean from the whole team. It was no mean feat, especially when you consider that 400 riders had to quit the ride as the route was so hard this year. Respect.

Taste Inn Wales are putting a 'team' together to compete in this years' Dragon Ride - the annual cycle in our backyard across South Wales and the Brecon Beacons. It'll be a family affair, with Taste Inn Wales co-owners Sean Gerrard and Jessica Bridgeman taking part. This fantastic charity ride where riders choose and ride various distances - 206km; 125km or 37km - up Wales' biggest mountain roads, is supported by Olympic champ and fellow Welshman Geraint Thomas.

The Brecon Beacons has been a long loved mountain bike destination for years, but recently has really moved up several gears to offer the complete package for weekend warriors. Upgraded trails and new routes, we've got outstanding facilities all set in the beautiful and wild Brecon hills. Its got the lot, ride open forests, bone shaking moorland, steep climbs and hairy descents.

Recently, we've had the Top Gear team staying at Peterstone Court, while they filmed a 'Help for Heroes' special with the army at the Sennybridge Training Centre. We've also had a BBC Drama crew staying with us at The Manor while they filmed a new Shakespeare period drama locally at the historic, medieval Tretower Court.
